Treatments, Cures and Chronic Lyme

Don't expect a cure or treatment for Lyme to come from the US Pharmaceuticals engine. Why? They are in it to make money and they are in it for the long haul. Big Pharma likes treatments and hate cures. Treatments are things like statins that a person uses for the rest of their life. These types of people are a gold minds. But a cure - is a finite event where the money trail comes to an end. Big Pharma would love for you to take antibiotics for the rest of your life. But Doxycycline is just not that profitable. But there is the one other pesky thing standing in their way called the "medical community". The Medical community is terrified of antibiotic resistance. Face it your GP doctor prescribed three types of drugs for everything - antidepressant, anti-inflammatory and antibiotics. Any thing else requires a specialist. They can practically do their jobs in their sleep. If they loose antibiotics as an effective treatment - the entire country/world is in trouble. But you are caught up in a strange double bind - the thing causing antibiotic resistance is the erratic and prophylactic use of antibiotics in live stock. People rarely 'cause' antibiotic resistance they are more the victims of it. GP doctors aren't vets or farmers and they are not making any moves to push for legislation to change farming practices in the US. They are a pretty dormant bunch. Look for Lyme "cures" as well as other disease cures to emerge for countries with socialized medicine. In countries with socialized medicine Sick people are expensive people. So their government is excited to 'cure' them and get them back to work.
